Every night follows the same path. Until it doesn’t.

Rick is an overnight security guard working inside a once-bustling Midwestern shopping mall after closing. Quietly carrying the grief of losing his daughter, he clings to the structure of his nightly routine as a form of stability.

Over the course of a single shift, that routine begins to fracture. Doors are left open. Corridors refuse to end. And something unseen appears to be following the same route, one step behind him.

The Space Between uses repetition, surveillance, and negative space to transform an ordinary place into a subjective landscape of grief.

Built around controlled wides, slow progression, found footage imagery, and sudden handheld panic, the film keeps the audience confined to Rick’s experience; searching every dark doorway for something that may already be watching him.
